Coney Island Anti Violence Collaborative

The Coney Island Anti-Violence Collaborative (CIAVC) is a coalition of Coney Island residents, non-profit organizations, businesses, schools, elected officials, and other stakeholders who have come together to address the issue of gun violence in our community.
CIAVC seeks to reduce incidents of violence in Coney Island by strengthening community relationships, developing community-based structures for preventing and addressing conflict, and working with local organizations and groups to expand supportive services oriented toward reducing violence.
As a neighborhood-based coalition with deep roots in Coney Island’s West End, we are dedicated to ensuring that city, state, and organizational efforts seeking to address violence in Coney Island are responsive to the needs and wishes of Coney Island residents, especially those most directly affected. We also aim to encourage the efforts of local organizations and groups dedicated to anti-violence work, and to provide a community of support to individuals and families affected by gun violence.
